The National Crown Jewelry Museum
This collection of beautiful precious stones is kept in the underground treasure chamber of the Iranian National Bank. Among the immeasurable treasures that date from the time of the Safavids to the reign of the last Shah of Persia are richly decorated crowns and the jewel globe, filled with 51,366 gemstones, on which the sea of emeralds and the continents are made of rubies. The probably most impressive exhibit is the world's largest pink diamond, the so-called Darya-e-Noor diamond (sea of light) with 182 carats.
